I wanted to inform everyone that AHF has contributed $2,700 to hire 3 full time nannies for 2015. Due to the faithful donations of those assisting in defending the fatherless in 2014, AFH is please to extend its commitment of hiring 3 full time nannies through 2027. As mentioned earlier in the year, this is 3 additional years from this point last year. God is faithful and through this year has not only provided an additional nanny, but has also extended this ministry another 3 years. What a great 2014!!
If you are considering donating in the end of 2014, please consider AHF. This fund provides greater care for those most vulnerable children in the heart of Ethiopia. Additionally, AFH also provides much needed income for location national working women who will provide for their families through this employment. Please consider partnering with AHF at the end of 2014 and heading into 2015. We continue to pray that God will be honored through AHF and are excited to see what God will do in 2015. As summer is proceeding into fall, an update is long overdue. We do have some very encouraging news, there is a small base of recurring givers to AHF. These regular givers are key to extending the lifetime of this fund! Thank you so much for your faithfulness. Also, with Orphan Sunday coming up in November, there are always opportunities to broadcast AHF to a new population. We will be developing new signage for these booths and presentations. As a reminder 100% of donations go directly to hiring nannies. All the publication materials are funded in other ways.
AHF has been awarded a booth location at the Connecting Hearts with the Forgotten Conference in Bloomington, IL this weekend. This conference is on Saturday, 3/1/2014 and is free to all who would like to attend. More information is located at http://www.connectingheartsconference.com. Pray that God will use this conference to bolster the ambition of attendees to serve the fatherless as well as AHF information to be spread to those who attend.
We have great news to report for the first part of 2014. AHF has received a sizeable donation from a person who would like to remain anonymous. This donation will enable AHF to supply funds to hire 3 nannies through 2027!! This is an extension of a full 3 years!! What a way to start 2014.
Merry Christmas all AHF supporters and followers. What a great season we have approaching us as we think about the greatest gifts of all in Jesus and God’s saving grace. I wanted to thank all of you who have supported AHF over the last year. We have had many exciting things occur in 2013. We were able to extend the support of nannies through 2024 as well as add an additional nanny. This means that AHF is supplying funds to hire 3 nannies through 2024!! AHF has just completed the distribution of the funds for the nannies for 2014.
AHF will be holding some fund raising activities in 2014 as well as manning booths at adoption conferences. Information will be posted on the Facebook site, Twitter feed, and website for how you can be involved. Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year. We have a very exciting post for the 3rd Quarter update. This is the first chance we have been able to receive feedback from folks who are on the ground in Ethiopia. A service team who was traveling with America World Adoption Agency was able to visit Kebebe Tsehay Orphanage this summer. Through this team, we were able to ask a few questions of the nannies that AHF has funded. We also received pictures of 2 of the 3 nannies that have been hired through AHF. Below are the questions and the answers we received from the nannies via a translator.
Q: What is a typical work day look like for you? What activities do you perform at Kebebe Tsehay? A: They feel positive and they do best every day at work. They have to do tasks like: feeding, caring, diapering, bathing & washing, dressing and so forth on their daily routine. Q: What is your favorite part of interacting with the children? A: All kinds of interactions with children are enjoyable for everyone. Q: What do you find most challenging in your daily work at Kebebe Tsehay? A: They do not feel that the work they do is challenging, but it would be good if they are able to diaper, cloths, and play games on a regular basis to do their job well. Thanks to all of you who are involved in this ministry for orphans. Feel free to share this great update with your friends as we celebrate direct actions of God’s command to care for the fatherless. We will have some news coming in a few weeks from a team that is in Addis Ababa right now. But for right now, I wanted to call out another great supporter of AHF. When creating AHF, we wanted to ensure that every penny that was donated to the fund went directly to hiring nannies. Well, there are some ongoing expenses that occur and printing of materials is one of them which we pay for out of pocket. We recently printed up some business cards and other materials to hand out in order to bring awareness to AHF. During the printing, a new donor has come to the table and covered the cost of this printing. A huge thanks goes out to our God for providing new donors to support AHF in this unique way! We praise God for the burden to care for the fatherless he has laid on individuals hearts.
Great News!! AHF has been able to hire a third nanny beginning in July of 2013. We have received a commitment from Scribbles Center For Learning, Inc. in Bloomington, IL to hire a full time nanny going forward. A huge thank you goes out to Scribbles leadership and their staff for this generous support of orphans in the Kebebe Tsehay Orphanage. This means that AHF now is able to supply 3 nannies through 2023.
